Guidance and support for municipal services
The Customer Service Point at the municipal office is the first point of contact for many municipal matters. Residents can receive information, guidance and help finding the right municipal service or contact person.
Services include guidance related to:
- municipal services and enquiries
- forms and applications
- permits and service processes
- general information for residents and visitors
- directing customers to the correct municipal contact
The service point helps when you do not know which department to contact.

Handle many municipal matters online
Many municipal services can be accessed electronically. Online forms and eServices make it possible to apply, submit information and handle matters regardless of location.
Electronic services include, for example:

Municipal Organisation
How the municipality works
Rantasalmi’s municipal organisation consists of elected decision-making bodies, municipal administration and service sectors responsible for everyday municipal services and development.
The municipal administration prepares and implements decisions, manages municipal operations and supports democratic governance. Administration is led by the municipality’s leadership and supported by service sectors and staff.

Participate in local and national democracy
Residents can find information through the municipality on municipal elections, parliamentary elections, presidential elections and European elections, including voting arrangements and polling locations.
The municipality provides information on:

Preparing and implementing municipal decisions
The Municipal Executive Board prepares matters for the Municipal Council and oversees administration, finances and implementation of council decisions.

The highest decision-making body
The Municipal Council is the highest decision-making body in Rantasalmi. The council decides on major municipal matters such as strategy, finances, taxation and long-term development.
